Desert Flower

Developed and designed by Brielle Middleton using a sustainable, Cork-Leather alternative, out of Istituto Marangoni; Miami's school of Fashion Design.

The design draws inspiration from festivals like Burning Man- where artistic self expression and pillars of sustainability meet bold, avant-garde fashion; Fully embodying the festivals creative spirit.

Using fabric manipulation the cork is cut and shaped into a petal-like pattern layered over a corset; with an exaggerated high collar that creates a blossoming effect. Embellished in a few places with sequins made from 20%recycled PET plastics from the Sustainable Sequin Company, adding a touch of sparkle to the design. The natural texture gives it an earthy, yet futuristic aesthetic, enhancing the petal elements of the design and turning it into an unforgettable piece of wearable art.
