Juxtaposing the transient outer self with the eternal inner cosmos ~

One half depicts the human muscular system and inner anatomy through embroidery. But instead of portraying mere biological reality - these patterns are conveyed using beads and glittering embellishments, emulating stars and galaxies.

Then in stark yet harmonious contrast, the other half is constructed using a reflective silver fabric to symbolize the ephemeral nature of our physical bodies as a metephorical mirror; Suggesting that our outward appearance, although beautiful and captivating, is only transient and temporary.

The inspiration for this piece is deeply personal and comes from having lost someone that I love. The experience not only shook me to my core, but clearly showed me that our bodies simply aren't ours. They're temporary vessels we inhabit for a short time. And even after these physical bodies expire, still being able to clearly communicate with our loved ones on the other side has shown me that this is so far from all that we are.

This concept can even be hard to wrap your head around within women's day-to-day lives- while still extremely prevalent amongst the modeling world; Where your value is often based and determined off your outward physical appearance.

Through this concept development and creation its otherwise been eye opening to see firsthand how our essence still lives on in extraordinary ways even after we unzip and step out of this meatsuit.
